Ms. Paula Carnegie
Madame Verger
Madame Verger
Servitas in cultu et cultus per servitatem: Service in worship and worship through service. That is the motto of the Vergers Guild. Paula, affectionately known as Madame Verger, takes pride in achieving recognition as a Fellow of the Guild in 2016. She was born and raised in Chicago and attended mostly the Presbyterian Church. In December 1973, she joined the Episcopal Church. Paula is a veteran of the Air Force, enlisting in January 1974 and retiring in February 1994. She and her two children became members of St. Mary’s in January 1995, and other than a brief gap she has been a member for 19 years. Highlights of her ministries at the church include singing in the choir and serving as acolyte and verger. She truly loves her verger ministry, her children and
grandchildren, her cats, playing the piano, and gardening. Having reserved a spot in the Columbarium, St. Mary’s will be Paula’s final resting place.
